Votive Masses and Prayers for the St. John of the Cross Jubilee

Lord, you have blessed St. John of the Cross with gifts to lead your people to mystical union with you. As we prepare for his feast, we make this novena asking for the graces of light and love we need to remove the obstacles that prevent us from recognizing our own poverty and the certainty of your love. What will you not give us, O God, who have given us all we desire in your only Son? Mindful of his, we ask you to grant what we ask through the intercession of St. John of the Cross.

Awaken and enlighten us, Lord, that we might know the love and blessings you want to give us. Drive away all that is contrary to Your will and transform us in You by love.

Pray for us, St. John of the Cross, that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.

O Merciful God of peace, you sent St. John of the Cross to teach your people the way of prayer and intimate union with You.  Through His intercession, increase our desire for You, strengthen us to live unselfishly, and lift us to Yourself in purity of love so that we may come to the fulfillment of all the hopes and desires You yourself have planted in our hearts. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
